Launched in 2010, Interim Term is an innovative Program at Mount Vernon offering Upper School students a variety of opportunities to explore personal interests, integrate disciplines, expand thinking, and serve the public good. While many students travel during this term, those students remaining in the Atlanta area will have the unprecedented opportunity to participate in Internships or Interim's CORE program. 

GRADING PROCESS

Interim Term includes a grading process. Grades will be included on the student’s transcript and Interim earns a 1.0 credit each year. Because Interim Term is included in the curriculum for Mount Vernon Presbyterian School, all policies in the Student Handbook are enforced. This includes all policies relating to tardiness, attendance, dress code, student conduct, etc. Trips, Internships, CORE and Exchange opportunities will have a rubric designed by the instructor. Students will earn their grade based on the standards set in the rubric. Credit for Interim Term will not be given if students do not meet the standards of the rubric. Any student who earns a grade below a C will be required to complete with a passing grade during the spring or summer, a course designed by the School in order for the student to return for the fall semester.
