Affirming a crucial component of Mount Vernon’s mission statement, Middle School students are exploring what it means to be Grounded in Christian Values. In last week’s first Middle School chapel service of the year, students and faculty began asking the question, “What are Christian values and what does it mean to be grounded in them?” Bringing these questions to the forefront, eighth grader Michael McConnell shared a meaningful video he created capturing this year’s theme.
Middle School chapel services are held on Wednesdays from 8:50 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. on the Glenn Campus in either the Gymnasium or the sanctuary of the Methodist Church on the corner of the Glenn Campus. Parents are always welcome to attend. Students actively participate in the services by leading prayers, singing songs (or playing them as part of the praise band), and dramatic performance.
