Welcome to Parent University!

Parent University offers parents a variety of opportunities to learn and grow together as a community. One of our many goals is to give parents the opportunity to learn from each other and provide support as we tackle the many challenges our children face today. There are numerous outside influences from media and peers that affect the growth and development of our children.

We as parents need to be connected and informed.

The educational opportunities at Mount Vernon extend far beyond the classroom. It is our responsibility as teachers, mentors and parents to help promote the moral growth of our children. Book discussions, lectures, and blogs are just a few of the many ways we will reach out to you. Many of you have spoken and we have listened. Topics such as digital citizenship, character education and promoting moral motivation are first on our list. These will be addressed in a variety of ways in the classroom, on campus, and here at Parent University for you.
