Mount Vernon Presbyterian School is committed to providing a global education that exposes students to world events, teaches them to navigate myriad cultures, and equips them with the tools necessary to address global challenges.

We offer our students a world language program that includes Spanish, French, and Latin in the Upper and Middle Schools, along with Spanish and Chinese programs that begin in Preschool and continue through the Lower School years. Upper School students are provided with the opportunity to travel to several countries during Interim Week in the spring semester. Trips to Peru, London, and South Africa in spring of 2012 will allow our students to experience various cultures. Experiencing a variety of different environments stateside also provides learning opportunities. During the 2011-2012 school year students will have the chance to visit historic, Charleston, South Carolina, or participate on a road trip touring elite colleges from Georgia to Massachusetts.

Mount Vernon also hosts international student exchanges for students in grades 9-12. The Global Education exchange programs offer valuable opportunities for students to learn about cultural diversity, while benefiting from Mount Vernon’s innovative college prepatory curriculum.

Taking the global experience to another level, MVPS is establishing sister school relationships with two educational institutions in Zambia - Garden Presbyterian School and The Helen De Vos School. These relationships will allow teachers and students to communicate and learn from one another in a meaningful way, while creating lifelong partnerships that spread throughout the Mount Vernon community.
