Mission

We are a school of inquiry, innovation, and impact. Grounded in Christian values, we prepare all students to be college ready, globally competitive, and engaged citizen leaders.

History

Established in 1972, Mount Vernon Presbyterian School serves students in Preschool through twelfth grade and is located in the heart of Sandy Springs within the metropolitan Atlanta area on a 37 acre campus. In 2008, MVPS celebrated the first graduating class of the School. Throughout the School’s rich history, MVPS remains committed to offering an innovative educational experience for students to lead the future with confidence as they confront a fast- paced, digitally-based global marketplace. Mastering 21st century skills, and driven by a vigorous college preparatory environment, students receive a world- class education at MVPS.

The academic year 2007-08 marked the first year to offer a comprehensive AP program. In 2008-09, Honors courses were added; Seven (7) points were added to AP courses, and three (3) points were added to Honors courses, with the total semester grade not exceeding 100 points. Students enrolled in an AP course are required to take the AP exam at the end of the semester.

Mount Vernon Presbyterian School has a passion to empower all MVPS students to think, lead, serve, and live their lives with wisdom and moral integrity. Through this passion we seek to be the best 21st century Christian college preparatory school in the world.
