Dear Mount Vernon Families,
I am so excited to welcome you to PlayMaker for the 2016-2017 school year!
PlayMaker encompasses all of Mount Vernon’s afternoon programming for Preschool through grade 8 -- Extended Play and PlayMaker classes. Mount Vernon is committed to providing the most expansive and robust afternoon programming possible, and we believe that learning, fun, and engagement do not stop at 3:00 p.m. each day. Whether your children are enrolled in Extended Play for the afternoon and/or in a PlayMaker class, they will enjoy an enriching and engaging afternoon experience.
This year, we will continue to offer classes during three different trimesters - Fall, Winter, and Spring.
Registration: June 6 - July 31
Classes: August 22 - November 4
Registration: October 10 - October 23
Classes: November 14 - February 17
Registration: January 23 - February 5
Classes: February 27 - May 19
The PlayMaker Class Catalog
provides a description of after school-classes, the trimester availability, cost for the trimester, minimum and maximum enrollment, and the teacher responsible for the class. Many of the PlayMaker classes are taught by our Preschool, Extended Play, and Lower School teachers. We are also excited to bring in outside enrichments such as Alliance Theatre, Chess Atlanta, Elementary Golf, and Jump Start Gym.
Registration and Waitlist
We will continue with registering one trimester at a time. In addition, there will be a week off between classes to accommodate makeup classes and provide our students a clear distinction between trimesters. While we have worked to create a diverse and robust list of class offerings, some classes might reach their maximum capacity quickly. If you register for a class that is already full, you’ll be placed on a waitlist and notified if space becomes available. Classes will be closed after the first week.
We will be able to offer full refunds for classes during the first week of each trimester. I cannot wait to welcome you to PlayMaker in August! Please let me know if you have any questions.
